Lake Balaton is the largest lake in Central Europe, located in Hungary. To make the most of its beautiful waters in summer, brand-new boats and ferries have been launched by Bahart Ltd, the company organising ferry services at Lake Balaton.
The ferry timetable has been updated for this summer season, commencing on 23rd June and ending 27th August, with services available every day until 11:40 PM. This extended timetable includes four new vessels, catering to the needs of local transport and tourists alike.
The two new ferries named Szántód and Tihany will now transport more passengers, cars, and bikes. The other two catamarans sailing under the names Balaton and Tokaj will also offer similar accommodation benefits. The four new vessels have more space compared to the older ferries and boast modern interiors.
The ferries commute between Szántód and Tihany, with travel time reduced to only 8 minutes. The ferries from Szántód are available from 6.40 AM until 11.20 PM, while those from Tihany run between 7 AM to 11.40 PM.
